Established in 2026 from the centralized management of the historic entities of the Fiemme Valley, the Fishing Agency of the Magnifica Comunità di Fiemme is a landmark for those who wish to experience fishing as a journey through the nature, history, and culture of the territory.
The Agency manages waters where fishing rights have been owned by the Magnifica Comunità di Fiemme for over a thousand years, with a simple yet ambitious goal: to safeguard and enhance a natural heritage that remains surprisingly pristine here, between the Dolomites and the Lagorai range.
Fishing in the Fiemme Valley means entering a landscape that changes face at every turn: the open and bright valley floor, thick spruce forests, alpine clearings, the porphyry scree of the Lagorai, and the Dolomite peaks in the background. Here, the mountain is not mere scenery: it is a presence. Climate and seasonality do the rest. In spring, the streams regain their voice; in summer, alpine lakes become destinations to be conquered on foot; and in autumn, the air grows thinner as the colors ignite.
The beating heart of the valley is the Avisio stream: oxygenated, turbulent, and possessing a strong identity. Here, the habitat is particularly suited to the Marble Trout, and the conservation work carried out for many years makes encounters with significant fish possible—encounters that become indelible memories in the mind of every angler.
The Travignolo stream descends from the borders of the Paneveggio Natural Park toward Predazzo; it has crystal-clear waters, a porphyry bed, and is immersed in the majestic spruces of the Forest of Violins. One is enchanted by the colors of its waters even just by walking along the paths that flank it.
Finally, there are the alpine brooks and lakes, where silence is part of the experience. Here, fishing also becomes an excursion: you climb the slopes, and the reward is a spot in one of the valley's most untouched natural contexts, often surprisingly rich in fish. For those seeking a more relaxing day, the reservoirs offer a different pace: easier access, space, and tranquility—the right place to enjoy fishing without haste.
In the Avisio, the reference species is the elegant and wary Marble Trout; in the Travignolo and the cooler, faster stretches, the native Brown Trout finds its ideal zone. In the alpine lakes and at higher altitudes, Brown Trout and Arctic Char thrive, perfectly in tune with the cold waters and harsh environments.
Here, the best technique is often the one that respects the water. In the Travignolo and many tributaries, dry fly fishing is an almost natural choice, especially when summer brings hatches and surface activity. In the Avisio stream, nymph fishing and more "analytical" approaches work well when the water is higher or the fish are more cautious. In the reservoirs and certain stretches, light spinning can also offer great satisfaction.
The Agency works with a clear vision: protecting the aquatic balance and the quality of the fish population, with attention to the original genetic lines of the species and an active role in surveillance and care.
Access for anglers is simple: daily permits and weekly solutions are available, with options dedicated to conservation and no-kill zones. Seasonality is consistent with the mountains: streams open in spring, while high-altitude lakes open at the beginning of summer, when snow and ice finally give way to living water.
Fishing here is not an isolated act: it is a way to enter the history of a territory. It ranges from a "technical" day on the stream to a hike toward an alpine lake that seems frozen in time. Because the water is the protagonist, not a pretext. And because behind it all is an Agency that does not limit itself to "issuing permits," but builds a continuous relationship between environment, management, and passion.
