Adige river

The Adige is the main river in Trentino and the second longest river in Italy. Along its wide valley-floor course, it offers a varied and technical fishing experience, particularly appreciated by spinning and fly fishing enthusiasts. Its waters are home to significant populations of marble trout, marble trout hybrids, and grayling, symbolic species of the great Alpine rivers.

The management of these waters is entrusted to two historic associations: the Associazione Pescatori Dilettanti Trentini for the stretch within the Trento basin, and the Associazione Dilettanti Pescatori Vallagarina for the southern stretch of the province. Thanks to the width of the riverbed, strong currents, and the presence of remarkably sized fish, the Adige represents one of the most prestigious destinations for sports fishing in Trentino, especially during the spring and autumn seasons when conditions are particularly favorable for targeting large salmonids.
