Winemakers since 1946
When a particularly suitable territory meets the passion to cultivate the land, something magical happens. The result? Wines with a strong territorial identity, custodians of ancient aromas and flavours. The Mattè Farm was founded in 2019 by the will of the two brothers Bruno and Michele who wanted to continue the family winemaking tradition started by their great-grandfather Mario in 1946. Bruno and Michele represent the 3rd generation, preceded by their grandfather Fabio and their father Marco, who in 1987 caused a crisis in the sector and reorganised the company's varietal structure, and decided to definitively close the winery then called Azienda Agricola Mattè Mario. The grapes produced on the farm for more than thirtyyears were then sold to private and social wineries in the area. The company today has a total area of about 10 hectares between property and rent and only a part is destined for transformation into a cellar. Cultivation and processing take place as much as possible in respect of the environment and by hand, limiting mechanization to achieve strict quality standards with a careful selection of bunches in the vineyard and fermentation at a controlled temperature to preserve all the varietal aromatic profiles.
