The Associazione Dilettanti Pesca Sportiva Molveno was founded in 1967 by fishermen from Molveno. Bonetti Graziano, Giordani Pio, Sartori Donato, Spellini Bruno and Nicolussi Quintino obtained the fishing rights for the Rio Massò and Lambin mountain streams in Molveno from the Autonomous Province of Trento and introduced trout into these streams at their own expense.

In 1971 they applied for the fishing rights for Lake Molveno, which were held initially by E.N.E.L. and after 1952 by F.I.P.S. in Trento. On 31.12.1971 E.N.E.L. granted the Association fishing rights for Lake Molveno, so it could now offer both lake and river fishing.

The Association’s main activities started in 1972 with the introduction of trout into Lake Molveno, the little Lake Bior and the Lambin and Massò mountain streams. During the summer, five competitions were organised on Lake Bior, and continue to this day.

Again in 1972, the Association was opened up to other inhabitants of Molveno and in 1981 to all the inhabitants of Molveno, who were able to join as ordinary members.

In 1991 the municipality of Molveno was given the fishing rights for Lake Molveno by the Commissario agli Usi Civici della Provincia Autonoma di Trento.

In 1998 new Articles of Association for fishing associations were introduced by the Autonomous Province of Trento and on this occasion residents of Andalo were also allowed to join as ordinary members.
