Lake Ledro combines convenience and natural beauty at an altitude of 650 metres, in south-western Trentino. Some sections may be overgrown or less easy to reach, but there are also plenty of easily accessible areas, with parking available nearby. Among the best spots for shore fishing are the Palafitte area, excluding the archaeological site where fishing is not allowed, and the Pieve di Ledro shoreline, two convenient and very interesting locations for a range of techniques.
Its emerald-coloured waters are home to a good variety of fish species, making it a complete destination suitable for anglers of different skill levels. The species present include perch, carp, rudd, chub, tench, burbot, and pike.
This variety makes the lake suitable both for anglers interested in coarse fish and for those who prefer targeting predators.
Recommended techniques
Spinning is a particularly interesting technique, especially when targeting perch, which can reach impressive sizes, as well as pike. Carefully selected artificial lures and natural presentations can provide truly exciting fishing sessions.
Boat fishing makes it possible to explore less pressured areas that are more difficult to reach from the shore, particularly when fishing for perch.
Lake Ledro is a spot best enjoyed during the warmer season, when the climate is mild and fish activity is more consistent.
The most suitable period generally runs from spring to autumn, with excellent opportunities between April and October. Summer is especially pleasant thanks to the cooler climate compared to the lowlands, while spring and autumn can also offer very interesting days, particularly for spinning.
