Lake Roncone, along with Lake Idro, is one of the most famous pre-Alpine lakes in the Chiese Valley. Located just downstream from the town of the same name, Lake Roncone was formed by an alluvial dam created by the Adanà stream. In the past, the lake was about twice its current size (today it measures 310 m in length, 110 m in width, and 4 m in depth).
In recent years, the lake has become a benchmark location for pike fishing enthusiasts. Additionally, in Lake Roncone—as throughout the entire Chiese Valley—another characteristic species is the brown trout; carp (which can reach up to 7–8 kg), perch, bleak, and chub can also be caught here.
Recommended techniques
All fishing techniques are allowed, except for live and/or dead bait fishing.
