The reserve extends for approximately 1.5 km along the Sarca River, near the village of Tre Ville, in a highly scenic natural setting close to the Adamello Brenta Nature Park.
The river section features a diverse mix of broad runs, deep pools, riffles, and slower glides, creating an ideal environment for anglers seeking technical and selective fly fishing. The most sought-after species are marble trout (Salmo marmoratus), brown trout (Salmo trutta), and, more occasionally, rainbow trout, including trophy-sized specimens.
As this is a valley-floor river section, the most productive fishing periods vary throughout the year. In spring and autumn, fish activity is generally concentrated during the middle hours of the day, particularly for dry-fly fishing, while nymph and streamer techniques offer a wider window of effectiveness.
During summer, higher temperatures reduce fish activity during the warmest part of the day, making the early morning and late evening hours significantly more productive. At this time of year, nymphs and streamers are often the most effective patterns, while the last hour of daylight frequently provides the best opportunities for dry-fly fishing.
Access is limited to 4 anglers per day, and advance booking is mandatory.
